Letting Go – Knowing When It’s Time

O U T T S P O K E N

The process of letting go can be a walk in the park for some. But the most difficult thing to do for others

I know for me personally, letting go has been the hardest challenge I have faced yet. Letting go of loved ones who have passed away as well as friendships. Letting go of old habits that were holding me back instead of pushing me forwards, and letting go of thoughts that were weighing me down and no longer served a place to stay in my mind.

Without realising, the things we are holding on to can get so wrapped up within our daily lives. We end up being so comfortable with what we’re holding onto and create more reasons as to why we shouldn’t let go.

When you find yourself coming up with every excuse as to why something shouldn’t go, sometimes is a sign that it’s time to shift, move forward and let go.

Another indication of when it’s time to let go, is when staying in the situation takes away more peace than what it adds to your life. Everything in life has a time and a season. Some seasons may last for a lifetime and some much shorter than what you expected. Just like with friendships, relationships and loved ones. They all have a time in our lives and there is a certain stage when we know “it’s time” to let go.

And although the process of letting go can be hurtful at the beginning. It may feel like a sense of grief, because you are letting go of the very thing or person you’ve been so comfortable with or love.

But, taking that step and letting go surely is an achievement and something you should be proud of. No matter if it’s small to some, it’s such a big thing to accomplish something that may have took you some time to do.

When you truly believe that greater things are for you in your life, it will happen. Learning to let go is also understanding that not all good things come easy. Sometimes difficult challenges will happen so that we can understand the depth of the blessings to come.

If there is something or even someone you know it’s time to let go of. I hope this has encouraged you in some way to know that the first step to do it may be difficult, but there is so much growth on the other side of letting go.

My emails and DM’s are always open to anyone who wants to get in touch. Excited to learn and read from more of you who contact and anyone who has any thoughts on this blog. Thank you for reading!
